The first glance at the paintings of Marsha Hatcher
reveals an exciting diversity in style and execution.
This diversity is the hallmark of Marsha’s artwork.
The freedom to paint in a variety of styles keep
painting a joy for both the artist and the viewer. She
approaches each piece with an emotional openness that
allows the subject and the medium of the art to
dictate the final form. This sensitivity to emotions
is easily seen in the faces of the people Marsha
paints. This mood driven style of painting assures
that each piece of Marsha’s art is unique.
"Art has always been a part of my
life from the very beginning. I have always believed
that my talent is truly a gift from God. Art is who I
am. It is what I do. It is a intricate part of my
life".
Marsha has exhibited her work national
and internationally. She is also a founding member of
JCAAA (Jacksonville Consortium of African American
Artists). Marsha is also a recipient of the
Community Foundation Art Venture grant/Independent
Life Minority award.
Marsha was born and raised in South
Georgia. She received of Bachelor of Arts degree from
Albany State University (Georgia). Marsha lives in
Jacksonville, Florida with her family where she works
as an artist.
